This is a part # CBA-R28-C09ZAR scanner cable used ONLY to connect compatible Symbol, Zebra, or Motorola bar code scanners (as listed below) to a compatible Verifone POS register, like the Ruby2, RubyCI, C18 and Topaz XL. The only way this cable would work is if you replace your existing scanner with a compatible scanner by Symbol, Zebra or Motorola. This cable ONLY fits Symbol / Zebra / Motorola brand scanners with part numbers: CBA-R28-C09ZAR 25-65648-20 (older, discontinued) 25-16694-01 Rev. E. (an older, discontinued, but compatible part #) If you don’t have a Symbol, Zebra, or Motorola branded barcode scanner, or have a cable with an unlisted part number, then this is not the correct cable. This cable is 56 inches when coiled and stretches to up to 9 feet (2.8 meters) long when uncoiled. It has a 10-pin RJ50 (RS-232 serial) male end that goes to the Symbol scanner and the other RJ45 8-pin male connector, which looks similar to an ethernet end, goes to a serial COM port on the back of the Verifone terminal.
